The Saudi Computers Society was established on 1408 H. to be the first national scientific unprofitable society, which cares with activities and researches pertaining to the scientific and cultural advancement, in the field of the computer science and the IT, also, is interested in holding the conferences, seminars, and specialized exhibitions, in the various fields of computers, in an endeavor to attract the specialists in the IT to work with them to serve in the Kingdom.
The goals which the Society tried to achieve since her establishment are represented in:
Enhancement of the scientific concept of the computer, and developing it in a way that serves the country.
Achieving the scientific communication between the Society members for the interest of all.
Giving the opportunity to workers, in the field of information, to contribute in the scientific progress movement.
Facilitating the exchange of the scientific and intellectual production.
Conducting the necessary studies and researches, and introducing the consultations to upgrade the performance of the various establishments and organizations.
We did not overlook some of the ambitious goals, and out of four axes, are:
1.
Adopting the follow-up and implementing the recommendations of national conferences for computer.
2.
Increasing the various activities and services of the Society, and expanding them in all kingdoms’ areas.
3.
Increasing the cooperation of the Society with the sectors pertaining to computer, inside and outside the Kingdom, to push forward the scientific progress of information.
SCS Objectives
The Society endeavored since its establishment to concentrate on a number of programs to achieve its goals , out of which :
1.
Awareness program and scientific education in the field of information and computer.
2.
Encouragement of Scientific research program and publication and supporting that.
3.
Convening National Computer periodical Conferences Program.
4.
Holding specialized scientific seminars and lectures programs.
5.
Organizing scientific trips and competitions in the scope of specialty.
6.
Participation in the local and world exhibitions.
7.
Participation in the scientific advancement in the field of computer.
8.
Cooperation with the world societies and organizations.
9.
Providing the professional consultations for a number of governmental and national sectors.
10.
Convening annual meetings for the directors of IT Dept. in all the Govt. Establishments and sectors.
