The Saudi Computers Society arranges the annual meeting for the IT Managers in the Govt. sector. Aiming to avail communication channels between the persons responsible about the IT in these sectors and to enhance the cooperation, increase the coordination to realize the linkage and integration, exchange the experiences in the scope of the IT.

This arrangement is a result of instructions of the Sublime Stature, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah Bin AbulAziz Al-Saud, and the Horary President of the Society, due his feeling of the effective and essential role, which is acted by the IT Depts. in the Governmental Sectors.
 

Objectives of the Summit:


Objectives are summarized in the following:
 

Enhancement of cooperation and integration between the Govt. Sectors, increase the coordination among them in the scope of the IT.

Highlighting the novelties in the field of IT world, and browsing the newest events in this scope.
Recognizing the challenges and difficulties in the field of IT.
Sharing knowledge and experience in the IT field.


First Meeting: The Strategic Planning Of the IT

The Major topics in this meeting were (the importance of the strategic planning, and its modern concepts, the strategic planning and the IT economies, the role of the IT managers in the strategic planning, the strategic planning of the e-Government, The national plan for IT in the Kingdom, besides a discussion session about the IT strategic planning in the Govt. sector.

Second Meeting: The E-Government

The main topics in the meeting were (the infra-structure and the need for the E- government, the readiness of the Govt. sectors to apply the Govt. services. The Electronic Govt. services, the national initiatives in implementing the e-Government, the international experiments and the stories of success in implementing the e-Government).
